John Newsome, MBA, and Managing Partner of SMG Development, as well as principal of SMG Property Management has over twenty-five years experience with Equitable and Maryland National Banks in Baltimore. His background includes heading the National and International lending areas, the formation of Cash Management Services, and heading all commercial bank operations.

He established SMG to handle the management, reporting, and control of all functions of development, renting, marketing, and maintenance for residential and industrial acquisitions, apartment construction and purchases, office buildings and shopping centers. Financing arrangements have been through syndications, Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, and borrowing of short and long term funds on both recourse and non-recourse basis. John Newsome brings finance, development, and multi-family management experience to the partnership of SMG Development.
